5 Flights for Under 50 Euros Round Trip to Explore the World This Autumn

This September 22nd autumn has finally begun, the best season of the year despite what summer lovers might say. Besides the heat fading away, bringing a pleasant cool breeze, the landscape transforms completely, with trees taking on those reddish and earthy tones, and even being covered in snow in some parts of the planet.

For the more adventurous, autumn also offers a multitude of destinations for a getaway for a few days to discover new places at a reasonable price. Here are a few of them:

Cagliari

For no more than €50, you can escape to the capital of the island of Sardinia, a city of pedestrian streets, colorful houses, and lively squares. It's the perfect place to wander aimlessly and discover the most hidden and beautiful spots on your own.

There are many points of interest in the city, such as the Bastion of San Remy - an ancient structure for the city's defense that now serves as a viewpoint - the Roman amphitheater - carved in the 2nd century - or the Cathedral of Santa Maria - built in the 13th century in the heart of the historic district of Il Castello. It is advisable to hire a guided tour if you want to get to know the city and its history in depth.

Cagliari, located in southern Sardinia, is also the perfect starting point to begin exploring that part of the island.

Basel

Commonly regarded as the cultural capital of Switzerland, for just over €50, you can visit one of the most important cities in this country in Central Europe.

One must-visit if traveling to Basel is a museum, as this city has forty museums spread across its area; the most notable are the Antiquity Museum, the Toy Museum, the Natural History Museum, or the Kunstmuseum (Museum of Art), which possesses several paintings by Picasso donated by the painter himself.

Another highlight in Basel is the flow of the Rhine River, which separates the new part of the city from its old town. Additionally, Basel hosts the last river port of the Rhine, as continuing its course leads us to the famous Rhine Falls, the largest waterfall in Europe.

Luxembourg

The capital of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg is located at the confluence of the Alzette and Pétrusse rivers, and you can travel there for less than €50.

One of the most impressive buildings in the city is the Grand Ducal Palace, the official residence of the Grand Duke in Renaissance style.

The city is full of bridges, such as the Adolfo Bridge, the Grand Duchess Charlotte Bridge, or the castle bridge, which offer unique views of the city.

Fez

To escape a bit from the autumn chill, you can travel to this city in northern Morocco for just €30. Considered the cultural and religious center of the country, the city, which dates back to the 8th century, boasts impressive historical wealth.

Wandering through it, you'll discover its centuries-old walls and cobbled streets, as well as the Qarawiyyin University, one of the oldest in the world and included in UNESCO.

But the most fascinating thing about Fez is the cobalt blue symbol of local pottery, which we can find scattered throughout the city.

Tirana

If you want to discover one of the trendiest European cities in recent years, it's possible for under €50. With its curious mix of Ottoman, communist, and modern heritage, the capital of Albania has transformed into a vibrant and dynamic city.

Although Tirana is not a city where you'll find great monuments or an extensive list of things to do, it is an extremely lively city full of history. Skanderbeg Square, one of the most important sites in the city, is a reminder of the communist era, around which most of the landmarks are situated: the Et'hem Bey Mosque, the Palace of Culture, the Clock Tower, or the National Historical Museum.
