Adopt a Teddy Bear from London City Airport
London City Airport has launched a campaign to adopt forgotten and abandoned teddy bears at the airport. Through this initiative, funds will be raised for Richard House Children's Hospice, a children's residence for those with serious illnesses in East London that provides clinical care, respite days, and other residential services for children, along with psychological support and therapy for their families.
According to a spokesperson from London City Airport, "many teddy bears will spend Christmas without a home. Some have been forgotten and lost at the airport, others have been abandoned in a dark, cold locker, or even mistreated by the family pet as a chew toy."
Thus, Adop-TED, the name of the campaign, aims to be a refuge for these teddy bears and a place where they can find a new home in exchange for a donation to Richard House Children's Hospice.
These adoptions can be made through the website www.adop-ted.lcy.co.uk, where all these teddy bears await adoption. Furthermore, all have passed security checks and carry the CE mark as a guarantee that they meet European Union safety requirements.
