She lives near the Sierra de Madrid, in the town of Torrelodones, and chooses the terrace of the El Pesca restaurant for us to meet, close to her home. It's a choice that fits her desire to be close to nature, even though she has to commute to Madrid for work. Aside from her acting career, Adriana Ozores reveals her adventurous spirit, as she calls it, and doesn't rule out going on great expeditions across the United States - where she has already traveled solo through the territories of Arizona - and the snow-covered mountains of Canada.

Although born in Madrid, her family is of Valencian descent. What is her relationship with the Mediterranean?

Fantastic. The father of my child is from Valencia, and I live between Valencia and Madrid. Let's say I've returned once again.

As a child, she spent summers in San Sebastián.

We used to go with my uncles Antonio and Mariano, with Pedro Lazaga's family, Concha Velasco... It was a gang, with small children. I have distant memories of La Concha beach, and San Sebastián has always held a special charm for me. So much beauty. Moreover, actors are very connected to that city because of the film festival.

Any unusual travels from your youth?

I took a very hippy trip through Morocco in a van, navigating dangerous paths and sleeping wherever we could. I was about 20 years old, and it was quite an adventure. We were in Fez and explored the north of the country. It seemed like a wonderful place, where I enjoyed the most wonderful teas while swatting away wasps and flies.

What is your travel philosophy?

I am very much like Dora the Explorer. I love to travel. I find it enriching and necessary. For a long time, I had a fear of flying, but it didn't matter how scared I was as long as I could travel. The thrill of discovering a new place excites me so much that no discomfort bothers me. In 2011, I took a three-month trip solo through Arizona. It was fantastic. Instead of going to New York or Los Angeles, I set out to discover the vast landscapes of the United States: the Grand Canyon and the West. I've also traveled to countries in the East, like Vietnam and Japan, but my heart is elsewhere.

You shot a film in Vietnam a few years ago. What was your impression of this Asian country?

We spent two months in Vietnam, but before that, I had been to Japan, which I loved. Vietnam is a different culture, and you find a significant difference between those who lived through the war and those born afterward. There is nothing comparable between the outlook of the older generation and that of the younger generation. The latter view things differently and are full of life.

What do you think is the reason for the attraction that Japanese people feel for Spanish culture?

That is true, and it also happens the other way around, especially among the youth. I don't know what strange ties connect us, but I am amazed at how Spanish kids are crazy about Japanese music, cartoons, movies... Everything Japanese fascinates them. Why? I don't know, but it's the case.

What is the most curious or strange thing that has happened to you while traveling?

In Morocco, we picked up a person in the car, and they started arguing and haggling with my companion. They offered to buy me for two and a half camels. I said: that seems like too little to me.

What is your favorite city?

To live, Amsterdam seems like a wonderful city to me. It has a lot of culture and charm. On the other hand, it is a very eco-friendly city. The canals, the people, the food, the advantages it offers for the mobility of its residents...

Do you like to acquire souvenirs from the places you visit?

I particularly love painting and art. From Japan, I brought back sketches and paintings.

You have performed plays in various venues across Latin America. Is there a country that has especially captured your attention?

Some time ago, I had the chance to experience Cuba in all its truth. Not the Cuba of tourism, but the Cuba of humble people who welcomed us into their homes. I remember that trip with great fondness. The woman of one of those houses used to hang a rag full of holes on a line on the little terrace. One day I asked, where can I wash my head? And the lady pointed to a washbasin that was behind. It was dawn, I washed my head, and it was one of the most beautiful moments of my life, while watching the sun rise.

Do you prefer the beach or the mountains?

I love the sea, but I also love the nature inland. Last summer, I was in Vall d'en Bas, in Girona, and it seemed like paradise. But the sea drives me crazy. Feeling the sea, looking at it... I love arriving at the beach and spending the whole day there, under the umbrella, with my sandwich and my book. I want it all, all the time. For many years, I have been going to Zahora (Cádiz), near Vejer de la Frontera, and it has been a delight.

Diving with family in the Virgin Islands, that's something else. The most beautiful thing that can happen to you is to be there.

Do you spend a lot of time organizing your trips?

No, no. I am very quick, very active, and I get bored easily. I go a bit into the adventure. During travels, you have to accept whatever you encounter. Risks are part of life.

What is the last trip you took?

I was a few months ago in the lakes of Sils-Maria (Switzerland). The most striking and beautiful landscapes you can imagine: so much beauty, so much beauty.
