Air France and KLM Offer Mobile Boarding Passes in Spain

After introducing it at other European airports, Air France and KLM now offer the option to obtain a mobile boarding pass to passengers flying from Madrid or Bilbao to Amsterdam, Lyon, and Paris-Charles de Gaulle. From Barcelona, this will be available starting October 25 for flights to Amsterdam, Bordeaux, Lyon, Nantes, Paris-Charles de Gaulle, and Paris-Orly.

The new service allows passengers to receive their boarding pass through a secure barcode via SMS or MMS on a classic phone or by email on a smartphone with internet access. Air France and KLM customers will no longer need to print their boarding pass; the only document passengers need to present is their identification.

To receive the mobile boarding pass, customers must check in online at /0/354/354427.JPEG or www.klm.com (mobile check-in section), starting 30 hours before the check-in deadline. The passenger will then receive their electronic boarding pass on their mobile phone.

This boarding pass contains the same information as a traditional boarding pass (the passenger's name, time and gate of boarding, flight departure time, seat number, and class).

The barcode is scanned at the boarding gate and can also be presented at the drop-off counters, security checks, VIP lounges, or shown to the crew upon boarding the plane.

As with electronic tickets, the reservation details remain accessible at all times in the check-in systems. If a phone malfunctions or runs out of battery, the passenger can print their boarding pass at self-check-in kiosks or request it from Air France or KLM staff.
