At the International Airshow in Farnborough 2024, a new cabin model was presented, aiming to revolutionize the industry. The Qatari airline is betting on the introduction of artificial intelligence into commercial travel, intending to forever change the experience of purchasing an airline ticket.

This is how one of the most exclusive airlines in the world aims to cross a new horizon, with a conversational AI that will provide customizable responses to customers to create the ultimate experience. The presentation took place while the airline showcased, for the first time, its new luxurious Qsuite Next Gen, rebranding the airline as one of the best and most luxurious in the world.

Surpassing Business Class

This new technology features a digital cabin crew that will help passengers create personalized flight experiences. The program is named Sama 2.0 and was presented during the airline's event held this year in the city of Berlin.

The program is designed to respond in real time to frequently asked questions about Qatar Airways, destination information, or tips for the journey, and users will be able to access it through the airline's immersive digital platform called QVerse. It will also be available through the airline's mobile app.

The company responsible for developing this new technology is UneeQ, a company specialized in the development of interfaces that focuses on creating digital humans. Among its achievements is the viral interface that allowed users to converse with physicist Albert Einstein.

A New Horizon for the Aviation Industry

This advancement is not the first inclusion of artificial intelligence in the skies. A few months ago, the United States Air Force conducted the first flight of an F-16 fighter jet controlled exclusively by AI. The experiment has raised concerns among arms control experts and humanitarian groups, who are calling for further restrictions on its use for such purposes.

However, the introduction of this technology in commercial flights is much more measured and will assist users on a plane controlled by a human pilot. The initiative has been awarded the World Travel Tech Awards for 'Best Airline Website in the World'.
