Cheaper Train Travel to France
With limited time, Renfe has announced a new campaign selling tickets to travel to France starting at 25 euros. These tickets can be purchased between September 26 and October 3 for travel between October 7 and December 10 on high-speed trains to France.
This new campaign aims to encourage travel to the neighboring country and is part of the partnership established in 2013 between Renfe and SNCF, which connects up to 21 French and Spanish cities by high speed. It was then that Renfe - SNCF Cooperation was born.
In this way, travelers can journey from Barcelona, Girona, and Figueres to Paris, Lyon, Valence, Marseille, Avignon, and Aix-en-Provence starting at 25 euros, while those traveling from Madrid and Zaragoza can reach the French cities of Aix-en-Provence, Avignon, Marseille, Montpellier, and Nîmes for prices starting at 35 euros.
In both cases, the price is per trip, and tickets can be purchased through the usual sales channels including renfe.com, traditional travel agencies, or ticket counters at the stations.
On another note, this promotion falls under Renfe's intention to promote high-speed train travel to France. Last spring, they ran another promotion called "PromoDuo" which also reduced ticket prices by 50%, although this promotion was conditional on two people traveling together. In this case, it is not necessary, so tickets can be purchased individually.
