Delta renews its Business class and celebrates 20 years in Spain

Delta Air Lines has revamped its Business class this spring on flights between Madrid and Atlanta, which, starting this April, will feature fully reclining seats arranged in the cabin to provide all passengers with direct aisle access. With this service, the Business class between Madrid and Atlanta matches the one Delta has been offering on its flights between Madrid and New York since last April. This upgrade is accompanied this year by enhancements to the Economy class, including individual audio and on-demand video services. The updates in both classes coincide with the 20th anniversary of Delta's first flight operated between Spain and the U.S. This summer, Delta will operate 38 weekly departures between Spain and the United States from Madrid, Barcelona, Málaga, and Valencia. The American carrier is implementing a $2 billion investment plan (1.523 billion euros) across all its flights (which transported 160 million passengers last year) to improve service both in the air and on the ground. The company's headquarters is in Atlanta, where the airport is the largest in the world, with over a thousand daily departures to 215 destinations. Next month, the Atlanta airport will debut a new international terminal, construction of which began in May 2008, requiring an investment of $1.4 billion.

The centenary of Kim Il Sung's birth may lead to the opening of tourism to North Korea. North Korean airline Koryo Air is launching a charter route on April 27 between Pyongyang and Harbin, in northwestern China. All organized tours to the country go through KTR, the official tour operator, and include the iconic sites associated with the "beloved leader." On April 15, the centenary of his birth will be commemorated with a military parade, gymnastics exhibition, and fireworks.
