Abu Simbel is a complex of two temples that is considered one of the best-preserved heritage sites in Egypt, despite being relocated from its original location.

What makes it even more astonishing is the phenomenon that occurs every February 22 and October 22. On these dates, the rays of the sun enter the main temple at such an angle that the figures of Ra (God of the sun), Amun (God of creation), and Ramses are completely illuminated, leaving the god Ptah, known as the God of darkness, in shadow.

Historians believe these dates correspond to significant events in the Pharaoh's life, likely his birth and the anniversary of his coronation, but there are no documents that prove these facts. Currently, this phenomenon has been delayed by two days due to the change in orientation of the temples.

Visiting Egypt during one of these two dates to witness this live and in person is an opportunity that we cannot miss. The grandeur of Abu Simbel illuminated by natural light is something that will remain in the memory of the luckiest.
