Enjoy a Movie Vacation

The travel portal Easy Travel has launched a "Top Movie" section on its page, featuring a selection of destinations where great films in the history of international cinema were shot.

Africa is a continent frequently featured in many films. For instance, in Kenya, at the heart of Africa, Meryl Streep portrayed Karen while filming Out of Africa. Specifically, it was filmed in the Maasai Mara National Reserve, where visitors can experience a unique adventure alongside wild animals.

But for those who want to see a true movie set, the destination is Tunisia, where Star Wars was filmed. The Tunisian government has preserved the sets in Matmata, a village in the south of the country, where the scenes of Tatooine, Luke Skywalker's home planet, were shot.

Another film shot in Africa is Asterix & Obelix: Mission Cleopatra, whose crew traveled to Ouarzazate in Morocco, nestled between the Drâa and Dadès valleys, where one can enjoy the Sahara and its oases.

One of the most exotic locations where a movie was filmed is Koh Phi Phi in Thailand, where Leonardo DiCaprio embodied a young adventurer while working on The Beach. For paradise-like locations, Easy Travel suggests the beaches of Jamaica, where the iconic The Blue Lagoon was filmed, and the island of Amorgos, Greece, where The Big Blue, a star film of French cinema, was filmed.

Other films whose settings should not be missed include The Godfather, Quantum of Solace, and Kingdom of Heaven. The former was filmed in New York, specifically in Little Italy, a neighborhood in lower Manhattan. Meanwhile, James Bond traveled to the Austrian town of Bregenz to attend the opera and be chased in the largest stage in the world built over a lake. As for Kingdom of Heaven, it was filmed in Huesca, with the Loarre Castle being one of its main locations.
