Best Things to Do:
Enjoy the Botillo and Androlla in Gijón
The Parador de Gijón offers a nod to the most traditional cuisine of Northern Spain by celebrating its Botillo and Androlla Days. Between February 3 and March 25, the establishment will expand its culinary offerings with a special menu available for 30 euros.
This initiative is part of the Gastronomic Exhibitions that Paradores de Turismo launched to revive and highlight both the products and the most significant culinary traditions of each region of our country.
The selection of dishes prepared for the occasion highlights two of the most representative products of Bercian cuisine, which is spread across the areas of Cantabria, Galicia, and Asturias.
Diners who choose the delicious menu from the Botillo and Androlla Days can start with roasted peppers from Bierzo with Chosco from Tineo, and then enjoy the typical botillo of slaughter with androlla, chorizo, cabbage, and potatoes. The sweet touch will come from the pear and reineta apple tart from Bierzo, which can be paired with various liqueurs and the Vega Ibor 2007 red wine.
In this way, the Parador de Gijón promotes the richness and uniqueness of Spanish cuisine, showcasing the most typical and traditional recipes from the northern table, with great importance given to quality indigenous products.
