Granada is now closer to Madrid and Barcelona with the new AVE

The AVE will allow travel between Madrid and Granada in just over three hours. The journey from Barcelona to the Andalusian city will take six and a half hours. Renfe will begin operating the new line with three daily frequencies between Madrid-Granada in both directions and one on the Barcelona-Granada line. This frequency is a far cry from the 14 trains that connect, for example, Madrid with Malaga or the 18 that connect the capital with Seville.

The ticket price for the journey from Madrid to Granada is high, just over 80 euros in standard class without discounts. The journey from Barcelona to Granada will cost 118 euros. For the launch of the line, Renfe has offered tickets at more affordable prices, starting from 35 euros per journey.
