The new model bears little resemblance to its predecessor with the same name. Its exterior design now straddles the line between a minivan and a recreational SUV. However, inside, it is much closer to the former. It has seven seats with an individual seat for each occupant in a 2+3+2 layout. The second and third-row seats have adjustable backs and can be folded down, removed from the minivan, or relocated within the cabin.
As is typical in vehicles of this kind, the driving position is comfortable and never feels cramped. The controls are placed in a quite rational way for both the driver and passengers, who have no trouble opening the sliding side doors, as it only requires pressing a button or pulling the handle. Additionally, if an object is detected while opening or closing, it will stop immediately for safety reasons.
The jump in quality compared to the model it replaces - which is still available at brand dealerships - is quite notable in terms of standard equipment and, of course, engines. Naturally, it also comes at a higher price. Three Trims The brand new Carnival has hit the market with three trim levels and standard equipment: EX I, EX II, and EX III. Even from the base version, the EX I, it is very well equipped. It includes front, side, and head airbags, anti-lock brakes, traction and stability control, air conditioning, centralized locking, climate control, power windows in the front and rear, adjustable steering wheel, automatic headlights, fog lights, automatic wipers, alloy wheels... in other words, everything you could ask of a modern minivan without having to pay a premium price. The Carnival maintains an excellent relationship between what it offers and the final price.
On the other hand, the trunk capacity with the seats up is, according to the manufacturer's data, 215 liters. However, if the two third-row seats are folded down, the capacity increases to 1,068 liters, which is more than enough space to carry half of a household.
Affordable Price
In short, this is a very competitive vehicle that has very few differences from its European rivals. It's clear that Asian manufacturers are catching up, significantly improving in quality while maintaining reasonably competitive prices for what they offer. That said, prices are no longer what they used to be. In fact, one of the main selling points of the old Carnival was its price compared to competitors, not to mention the high satisfaction it provided to users due to its practicality and versatility.
