At that moment when the flowers are in full bloom, having grown and their colors and scents are vibrant, Madeira celebrates its Flower Festival, a tribute to spring where the color, scent, and sensations provided by the flowers flood the archipelago.

The Flower Festival in Madeira will take place from April 19 to May 6, when the blooming is at its peak. For days, events and activities will follow one another. The Wall of Hope, the Flower Parade, and the Flower Market will be joined by floral decorations and exhibits as well as musical performances throughout Funchal, the capital of the Madeira archipelago.

One of the key moments of the Flower Festival is the Children's Parade, which this year will be on April 21, where hundreds of children will parade in costumes through the streets of Funchal to the Praça do Município, where they will find the Wall of Hope, a mural made of flowers. During the parade, each child carries a flower that will be placed on the Wall. The parade culminates with the flight of doves and a children's show, calling for peace in the world.

The following day, April 22, the Great Flower Parade will take place, one of the most awaited events, consisting of a parade where the floats, adorned with flowers, pay tribute to the festival. Additionally, participants will also wear floral decorations for the occasion.

Throughout the festival, the Arriaga Avenue will host the Flower Market, where in a unique atmosphere, the vendors, "Madeiran florists," dressed in traditional costumes will showcase countless floral species and decorative floral elements. Moreover, it is on Arriaga Avenue that the ground is covered with carpets and floral decorations for the admiration of visitors.

Very close by, in the Praça do Povo, the Flower Exhibition will showcase some of the most beautiful specimens cultivated in Madeira. There will also be a contest awarding the best in each category. Workshops and craft displays related to flowers will also take place in the Praça do Povo.
