Madrid Unveils the Longest Zip Line in Spain
Guadarrama, in the eponymous mountains and north of the Community of Madrid, has just inaugurated the longest zip line in Spain. Covering a length of 380 meters, those brave enough to take the plunge will enjoy views of the Las Pinillas reservoir, along with other points of interest.
Thus, the course of this zip line, located in the Las Encinillas Recreational Area, starts at the highest point and traverses a forest for about twenty meters, after which it opens up to the Las Pinillas reservoir, at a height of 50 meters. Later, it crosses over to the other zip lines in the area to land almost at the entrance of this recreational area.
A half-hour from Madrid, the General Director of Tourism, Carlos Chaguaceda, noted that activities like the new zip line complement the tourism offerings of the Community of Madrid, which is already well-established in active nature sport and leisure. 'This new activity adds a bit more excitement and action to getaways in the region and enhances the tourism offer in Guadarrama, which we strongly support,' he added.
Additionally, the General Director highlighted the efforts of small business owners and entrepreneurs in the Sierra de Guadarrama, who are contributing to regional development and the economy of Madrid, offering services that help conserve the environment as a core value of sustainable tourism.
