Michael Douglas and Catherine Zeta-Jones Sell Their Spectacular Mansion in Mallorca for 29 Million

Michael Douglas purchased S'Estaca in 1990 and, as he himself states, "has spent wonderful moments" there with his wife, Catherine Zeta-Jones, their children, and numerous friends who have visited them, some as famous as Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman or Michelle Pfeiffer. The house, an impressive Mediterranean-style mansion, was previously owned by Archduke Ludwig Salvator of Austria, a cousin of Empress Sisi, whose family acquired it in 1878.

The American actor was, in fact, one of the first international celebrities to choose Spain as his summer residence, putting the island of Mallorca on the map worldwide.

S'Estaca comprises 6 distinct buildings spread over its 77 acres of land. This includes the old main building, guest houses, an artist studio, a gym house, and a massage area... all designed in Moroccan and Mediterranean styles.

The mansion was renovated after Douglas purchased it, preserving its historic charm while equipping it with all the comforts and luxuries. The main building features a wine cellar, several terraces, an old bathroom entirely made of marble, and several dressing rooms. The best views of the sea can be enjoyed from the master bedroom suite, which offers a unique panorama of the Mediterranean.

The house has a total of 10 rooms and can accommodate up to 20 guests in two guest houses, one in Moroccan style and the other in Tuscan style.

The outdoor area is the most beautiful feature: a Mediterranean garden with palm trees, almond trees, fruit trees, and olive trees, as well as numerous vineyards that can be enjoyed from the many terraces of the property. According to the real estate listing, "Other highlights include an artistically embedded swimming grotto in the marble pool and a Moorish-style pavilion, which is the ideal meeting place for pleasant evenings or for having appetizers with friends."

And of course, it also includes a private dock and terrace from which, according to Engel & Völkers' website, "romantic dinners can be held or you can enjoy the incredible sunsets of the Balearic Islands."

All for the "modest" price of 29 million euros.
