The prestigious German brand has not taken many risks regarding the design of the brand new C-Class. However, the company has made this model a bit larger than the previous one, its true Achilles' heel in terms of interior space and the comfort of its rear seats. Nevertheless, while the mentioned seats have gained some space, they still do not provide enough room for five adults to travel comfortably. The biggest winner is the trunk, with an excellent capacity of 475 liters, one of the largest in its category.

All versions come standard with a six-speed manual transmission, except for the 350, which comes with a flawless seven-speed automatic transmission, as we have already experienced in other models from the brand. The lineup of diesel engines is varied, with four and six cylinders. The four-cylinder engines deliver 136 and 170 hp, while the six-cylinder engine goes up to 224 hp, a power that almost makes this sedan feel like a sports car due to its performance on the road. Regarding gasoline engines, the smallest offers 156 hp and is followed by the 185 hp variant. The six-cylinder engines start with 204 hp, go to 231 hp, and culminate with the most powerful at 272 hp. The truth is that this section presents few changes, although the company has managed to make the model slightly less polluting than the previous generation. As is customary with the brand, it comes in three types of finishes and equipment: Classic, Avantgarde, and Elegance. The Classic is the most affordable version. With an exceptional chassis, the "little" C-Class is a rear-wheel drive that demonstrates impeccable handling; one could say exemplary. At all times, it provides a great sense of security, with a balance in every aspect that deserves praise. Its reactions are very predictable, and its driving is quite smooth and easy. Although the standard equipment is quite decent, at Mercedes, they should have included more details such as the electric parking brake or the active cruise control. Fortunately, prices have not increased significantly compared to the previous generation and range from $32,900 for the most affordable model to $47,900 for the most luxurious version.
