One of the good things about winter is the opportunity to enjoy such beautiful natural scenes as this. Without a doubt, it is a phenomenon that leaves us with images for posterity, like the one we see here, taken yesterday, January 27, where we can appreciate the world-famous Niagara Falls frozen. Although it may seem like these falls on the border between Canada and the United States completely freeze over, it is just an optical illusion; the water continues to flow. They have only completely frozen once in 1848, and it has not happened again since then.

The reason the falls cannot completely freeze is due to the construction of the power plant by the New York Power Authority in the 1930s; since then, it is impossible for this event to occur. However, we can still enjoy the freezing of some of its parts.

This phenomenon occurs almost every year; it is not at all atypical, as throughout the Canadian winter, temperatures drop significantly and produce this event.

What is indisputable is that whether frozen or not, Niagara Falls is a natural wonder that does not go unnoticed at any time of the year; here is the proof, with an image in spring where we can see them in all their splendor.
