Discover the Swarovski Crystal Worlds in Austria
Swarovski wanted to celebrate the 120th anniversary of the brand with the renovation of the Swarovski Crystal Worlds in Wattens, located 17 kilometers from Innsbruck. It is designed to be almost an amusement park centered around the world of crystal. Thus, the Giant, as they call it, is an attractive space where the magic of Swarovski thrives.
The renovation of the Swarovski Crystal Worlds involved an expansion of the garden and the construction of new buildings that house the entrance to the museum, a restaurant, and a play area. Additionally, the interior of the main building has also been renovated and the store redesigned.
The new entrance is formed by a forest of white birch trees that delineate the garden of the large entrance plaza. This forest consists of a prominent concrete roof supported by the white trunks of the birch trees.
As for the new garden, its central part features a Cloud of Crystal suspended over a black mirror water pool. This "cloud" is made up of 600,000 hand-placed Swarovski crystals that can be seen from a path leading visitors to the pool, where they reflect, creating an effect meant to emulate stars in the night sky.
In the southern part of the garden, a play tower has been constructed consisting of four stacked levels where special workshops for children are held.
Also in this space, the Daniels Café Restaurant is designed as a pavilion built from modeled and organic concrete that promises unforgettable culinary experiences inside, partly due to its in-house pastry.
The renovation of the store promises an emotional and virtual time travel experience with kilometers of LED lighting creating a spiral tunnel. An interactive sound installation further expands the space.
Finally, the Chambers of Wonders, as the interior of Swarovski Crystal Worlds is known, has also been renovated, offering a unique experience for visitors.
Swarovski Crystal Worlds is open from 9:00 AM to 6:30 PM every day, and the admission price is $19 for adults and $7.50 for children 6 years and older.
