SWISS Welcomes Its First Boeing 777-300ER and Launches New VIP Lounges at Zurich Airport
The new Boeing 777-300ER from SWISS will feature 340 seats, including 8 in First Class, 62 in Business Class, and 270 in Economy Class. Passengers will be able to enjoy, for the first time across the entire SWISS fleet, onboard wireless internet connectivity. The new "SWISS Connect" service offers three data connection options costing between 9 Swiss francs (approximately $8.50) and 39 Swiss francs (approximately $35.50). Additionally, First Class passengers will have access to a complimentary 50MB connection package during the flight. As part of the onboard connectivity offer, a telephony system will allow passengers to send text messages or browse the internet using roaming services during a one-year trial period.
The new Boeing 777-300ERs from SWISS will gradually enter service starting in the summer 2016 season on routes to Hong Kong, Bangkok, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Sao Paulo, and Tel Aviv.
New VIP Lounges at Zurich Airport's Terminal E
Coinciding with the arrival of the first Boeing 777-300ER, SWISS unveiled its new concept for VIP lounges, inaugurating three new spaces that will be available for First Class, Senator, and Business Class passengers in Terminal E of Zurich Airport.
With a total area of 3,300 square meters and located near the boarding gates for long-haul flights, the new lounges offer spaces with independent work areas and relaxation zones with specially designed seating to unwind before the journey. The Senator Lounge features a bar with 120 types of whisky, and during the winter months, First Class lounge passengers can enjoy fondue or raclette.
