Thrill-seekers and amusement park lovers have roller coasters as their particular path to paradise. And in Spain, we are lucky to have the best roller coaster in Europe and the only Multi-Launch attraction in our country. A gem that has nothing to envy from the 10 roller coasters you must ride at least once in your life.

We move to the town of San Martín de la Vega, just over 30 kilometers from the Puerta del Sol in Madrid, to enjoy Parque Warner, a theme park that offers visitors an experience based on characters from Warner Bros, DC Comics, and Hanna Barbera.

Thrilling Roller Coasters

Since its opening in 2002, Warner (as it is informally known) has featured various roller coasters that have delighted adrenaline junkies and thrill-seekers. Among them, for example, is Superman Steel Attraction (with seven inversions and several free falls) or Stunt Fall (considered the roller coaster for 'specialists' since it simulates an action scene during its ride with six inversions and a highly intense boomerang effect).

The crown jewel of Parque Warner did not arrive at this theme park until 2023. Its name? Batman Gotham City Escape, a roller coaster that recreates Wayne Manor, the Batcave, and Gotham's subway, through a story based on the main villains of Gotham City.

Batman Gotham City Escape: What to Expect

The audience arrives at a majestic library when suddenly, an unknown signal interrupts the attraction: it is the evil Joker, who has taken all the visitors hostage. At that moment, you must escape from the Joker and the villains of Gotham City thanks to this spectacular roller coaster.

The roller coaster features electromagnetic propulsion systems and covers a distance of more than 1,010 meters in its almost two-minute duration (111 seconds to be exact) during which the passenger will enjoy the experience thanks to the over-the-shoulder harnesses that leave shoulders free for a total feeling of freedom during inversions.

In Batman Gotham City Escape, the figures are staggering, with a maximum drop angle of 98 degrees following a 45-meter high hat trick that allows (for those who resist closing their eyes) to enjoy spectacular views of the park.

Rolls, turns, drops, inversions, and two launches that reach speeds of more than 100 kilometers per hour in seconds have earned this roller coaster the honor of ranking among the best roller coasters in Europe.

The website Captain Coaster is the bible of roller coasters around the world, and the opinions of its users about Batman Gotham City Escape clearly reflect the quality of the attraction: "A masterpiece, number 1 in Spain"; "Very intense and fun, a lot of ejecting, good theming" or "The experience is simply something you must experience firsthand. That moment when you stay upside down for a few seconds, moving in a straight line, is almost magical; if you raise your arms, the feeling is unique and hard to find on other coasters."

More Than One and a Half Million Visitors

In these two years since it opened, more than one and a half million visitors have ridden this roller coaster, making it, by right, the crown jewel of Parque Warner in Madrid.

In short, if you love thrilling roller coasters, there's no need to travel to Cedar Point to enjoy a true gem, as in Spain we can enjoy the best roller coaster in Europe thanks to its 3 launches, 4 inversions, and a top speed of 104 kilometers per hour.
