The Travels of Miguel Ángel Muñoz

Introduction

A student of the talented Lee Strasberg School, he has worked with Sharon Stone and Andy García. An example of artistic versatility: he acts, dances, sings, and directs (there's his brilliant documentary 100 Days with Tata). He was discovered at the age of 10 by Jaime de Armiñán. When thinking about his childhood, what are his most memorable vacations?

In Marbella, at age 10. In a game of spin the bottle, I got my first kiss from a girl who was quite a bit older than me, and it was exactly as I had dreamed.

What was the first trip he took without his parents?

I changed schools several times throughout my life. It was the end-of-year trip for 8th grade to Barcelona, being able to stay with those I wanted in the same room...

If he didn't live where he does, which city would he like to live in?

There's no place like home! In Madrid, I have everything I need to be happy: routines and a chosen family. This makes my life much easier than in other places in the world.

Which destination would he like to visit if he had the time and/or money?

Japan because I want to run the Tokyo Marathon, which is one of the ones I'm missing to complete the Six Majors. I have run Boston, Chicago, New York twice, and I want to do London, Berlin, Tokyo, and Sydney.

What is his favorite spot on the planet?

Ibiza, where I spend almost every summer with my Ibizan family, my friend Bartolo's family, but I think my favorite spot is still one that I have yet to discover.

Has he ever taken a trip inspired by a book, movie, or album?

I managed to visit Joshua Tree when I lived in California and played the soundtrack of that amazing album I loved back in the day.

What is his favorite mode of transportation?

Sailing, to be able to take a long journey one day.

What is the craziest purchase he has made on one of his trips?

On stage, I always liked to wear something that reminded me of Michael Jackson, Usher, or Justin. And in Paris, I bought some very expensive sneakers covered in rhinestones, designed by Yamamoto.

What can't he forget to pack in his suitcase?

A pair of sneakers for exercising.
