The World's Tallest, Fastest, and Longest Dive Coaster
Canada's Wonderland is the most visited amusement park in North America. Now we understand why, as it is located just 25 miles from the city of Toronto, Ontario, and features 16 roller coasters, each more exciting than the last.
They have announced that in April 2019 they will have a new attraction ready, the Yukon Striker, a dive coaster that will break all possible records: it will be the longest, tallest, and fastest in the world within its category. Dive coasters are characterized by having no floor where riders can place their feet, meaning their feet dangle, making the experience even more thrilling.
An Incredible Construction
The Yukon Striker will ascend to 246 feet in height and, after a brief but tense pause of three seconds, plunge into a terrifying 90-degree drop that will surely terrify even the bravest of riders. In its "favor," it should be mentioned that this type of aggressive drop is only found on ten other roller coasters worldwide.
The ride will reach speeds of 81 miles per hour, pass through an underwater tunnel, complete a 360-degree loop (the only one of its kind in this roller coaster category), and cover 1,105 meters in less than three and a half minutes.
Additionally, Yukon Striker differs from the competition due to the design of its trains: its stadium-style seating arrangement causes each row to be positioned slightly higher than the last, and there is no floor, which means riders sit with their legs hanging, giving the sensation of flying through the skies of Toronto. The trains will feature a configuration of three rows with eight seats each, accommodating a total of 24 people per train.
Furthermore, the theme of the new roller coaster at Canada's Wonderland is based on the "Gold Rush" that swept through Canada in the late 19th century, specifically in the Yukon Territory located in the northwest of the country.
